Met trots melden wij u dat de SALT Osteoporose Studie vorige week werd gepubliceerd in the Journal of Bonen Mineral Research.
Dit screeningsonderzoek kreeg reeds in 2009 de (tijdelijke) status van een Bevolkingsonderzoek. In het werkgebied van SALT deed het merendeel van de huisartsenpraktijken mee, maar ook in Haarlem, Amsterdam en Amstelveel werd het onderzoek verder uitgerold. Het is één van de grootste studies ter wereld geworden in het onderzoek naar screening bij Osteoporose. De komende maanden zullen er nog enkele publicaties volgen.
Het onderzoeksteam werd vanaf 2009 o.a. geïnitieerd en aangestuurd door Dr. Petra Elders, huisarts en onderzoekcoördinator op de Vumc en Thomas Merlijn, huisarts, Coen Netelenbos (prof endocrinoloog Vumc em. ) en Christy Niemeijer (huisarts en Directeur SALT).

The SALT Osteoporosis Study has been largely funded by Stichting Achmea Gezondheidszorg. Healthcare costs have been compensated by Achmea and VGZ Zorgverzekeraar.
